Ghana's Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has led a delegation to Hong Kong for a business trip. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Ghana and Hong Kong in areas such as financial services, gold industry chain development, and resource extraction. This initiative aligns with the "Belt and Road" strategy, seeking high-quality, mutually beneficial outcomes.

Hong Kong Gold Exchange Chairman Dennis Cheung stated that the exchange and the Ghanaian delegation have reached a high level of consensus. Both sides are committed to facilitating a comprehensive alignment of their gold markets. They look forward to building a seamless, efficient, and trustworthy "Gold Corridor" that will create sustainable commercial value for gold producers, refiners, traders, and investors in both regions, further solidifying Hong Kong's status as a global gold trading hub.

The delegation visited the Hong Kong Gold Exchange, holding high-level talks with Chairman Dennis Cheung and CEO Feng Weilin. During the meeting, the parties engaged in forward-looking discussions on building a new ecosystem for regional and global gold markets.

The Ghanaian delegation revealed plans to visit Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area cities again in the fourth quarter of this year. At that time, they will conduct comprehensive discussions with the Hong Kong Gold Exchange on the specifics of gold trading mechanisms and the application of gold derivative products. The hope is to eventually encourage cooperation between Ghana's authoritative gold mining institutions and the Hong Kong Gold Exchange. This move would help Ghanaian gold mining companies leverage the Hong Kong Gold Exchange's international platform to deepen partnerships with global industry players. It would allow gold raw materials to be directly converted into international delivery gold bars meeting the Hong Kong Gold Exchange's standards through standardized production and refining, thus realizing the concept of "storing gold in Hong Kong" and developing diversified gold asset appreciation.
