Clarity Act clears Senate as Bitcoin hits $82K
The Clarity Act advanced out of the Senate Banking Committee on Thursday in a 15 to 9 bipartisan vote, clearing a critical legislative gate for the most significant crypto market structure bill in US history.
Bitcoin climbed above $82,000 following the vote before retreating slightly to around $81,500, up approximately 2.5% on the day.
Coinbase expands USDC reach through Hyperliquid treasury partnership
The agreement also includes Native Markets granting Coinbase purchasing rights for USDH-branded assets.
Coinbase has become the official USDC treasury deployer on Hyperliquid, strengthening the crypto exchange’s push to expand the stablecoin’s presence deeper into decentralized finance infrastructure. According to a report from ChainCatcher, USDC will now function as an aligned quote asset across the Hyperliquid ecosystem under the new arrangement.
DPRK Hackers Stole $2B in Crypto in 2025 Despite Fewer Attacks
North Korean state-sponsored hackers stole over $2 billion worth of cryptocurrency in 2025, marking a 51% increase compared to the prior year, even as the number of attacks declined, according to cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike. This underscores a shift in tactics by DPRK-affiliated threat actors, who are focusing on fewer yet higher-value targets.

The overall net outflow of the US Bitcoin spot ETF on Thursday was $12.79 million. The total net asset value of Bitcoin spot ETFs is $105.96 billion, and the ETF net asset ratio (market value compared to total Bitcoin market value) is 6.58%.
The Bitcoin spot ETF with the highest net inflow on May 14 was Bitwise Bitcoin ETF with a net inflow of $17.7 million, according to SoSoValue.
