On February 13, China's State Administration for Market Regulation held talks with several major platform companies, including Alibaba, Douyin, Baidu, Tencent, JD.com, Meituan, and Taobao Flash Sales. The regulator called on these firms to strictly comply with laws such as the Anti-Unfair Competition Law, the Price Law, the Consumer Rights Protection Law, and the E-Commerce Law. Companies were urged to proactively assume their responsibilities and further standardize promotional activities. Authorities reminded the platform operators to eliminate all forms of cutthroat competition, work together to maintain a fair market environment, and promote innovation and healthy development in the platform economy.
