This summer, Typhoons "Bavi" and "White Dolphin" have hit the coastal areas of Ningbo in quick succession, with less than a month between them. Facing the severe test of these "rapidly connecting" typhoons, Ningbo Airport has adopted a strategy of proactive prevention, comprehensive protection, and unwavering defense to fully confront this arduous battle against the typhoon.

On August 9th, as the powerful Typhoon "White Dolphin" continued to approach, all departments of Ningbo Airport raced against time, fully entering a state of readiness. The Airport Operations Management Department immediately conducted an inspection of the airport's navigation equipment, focusing on the working status of key navigation aids such as the Instrument Landing System and Distance Measuring Equipment. They tested equipment parameters and confirmed signal accuracy one by one. Simultaneously, they strengthened patrols of the apron and surrounding areas, promptly collecting and clearing airborne debris to eliminate the hidden danger of foreign objects in high winds, thereby ensuring the safety of the runway and taxiways and providing a guarantee for the resumption of subsequent flights.

The Terminal Management Department carried out windproof reinforcement work on the terminal departure platform. Staff relocated all large potted plants from the platform to safe indoor areas, and individually removed and stored all types of signage indoors. At each main entrance and exit of the terminal, they used flood control sandbags to weigh down and reinforce the doors, preventing strong winds and heavy rain from pouring in. The Infrastructure Construction Department completed the replacement of broken window glass in the terminal before the typhoon made landfall, ensuring the structural safety of the terminal's curtain wall in strong winds.

The Ground Service Department provided comprehensive protection for equipment at remote gate boarding areas, laying waterproof covers over various ground support equipment to prevent damage from heavy rain. Meanwhile, they moved all carts from the departure platform indoors to prevent them from being blown away by strong winds and causing safety hazards. The Mechanical, Electrical, and Energy Department carried out mooring and reinforcement work on each boarding bridge one by one, ensuring the bridges remained stable and reliable in gale-force weather. After completing security support tasks for the domestic arrival passage at the cargo terminal, the Security and Inspection Department promptly opened the retractable gate and used sandbags to weigh it down for reinforcement, further strengthening the wind and rain resistance of the passage entrance.

All departments of Ningbo Airport performed their respective duties and cooperated closely, with every measure being implemented effectively. Currently, the airport is continuously and closely monitoring the typhoon's dynamics. All staff and cadres are on high alert, ready to organize the resumption of flights as soon as weather conditions improve, striving to ensure the airport's operations are stable and orderly while safeguarding the safe travel of passengers.
