According to informed sources, Tulsie Gabbard is preparing to resign from her position as the U.S. Director of National Intelligence. Her tenure has been marked by continuous controversy, during which she was largely sidelined in national security matters concerning Venezuela and Iran under the Trump administration.

Gabbard sent a letter to President Trump on Friday, stating that her resignation is due to her husband's recent diagnosis with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.

In the letter, she wrote: "I must step down from public office to fully support my husband in his fight against this illness." Gabbard indicated that she will officially leave her post on June 30 and will remain in her position during the transition period to ensure a smooth handover and the steady progress of departmental affairs.

Currently, as efforts to mediate an agreement to halt Iran's nuclear activities or extend a ceasefire for further negotiations are at a critical juncture, President Trump is considering launching a new round of strikes against Iran. Gabbard's resignation comes precisely at this pivotal moment.

Multiple officials previously disclosed to the media that Gabbard was not involved in core discussions regarding military actions related to Iran before the outbreak of hostilities in February this year. Her statements on related issues have often diverged from the government's official stance, noting disagreements between U.S. and Israeli strategic objectives. Additionally, she has stated that Iran has not resumed nuclear project construction since the U.S. military attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities last year.
