National Pipeline Network Group announced on August 13 that the Lianyungang-Yizheng Crude Oil Pipeline Project, a key national oil and gas infrastructure initiative, has achieved a successful first-phase operation for the Lianyungang-Huai'an section. This marks the inaugural ten-million-ton crude oil pipeline to commence operations at the start of China's "15th Five-Year Plan" period.

The project holds significant strategic importance for optimizing the energy supply structure in China's central and eastern regions and enhancing the "National Oil and Gas One Network" layout. Following the commissioning of the Lianyungang-Huai'an section, the pipeline will connect with the already operational Rizhao-Yizheng pipeline, ultimately transporting crude oil to the Yizheng station, a key eastern oil hub.

The pipeline system will have a maximum daily throughput capacity of 70,000 tonnes, serving refineries and petrochemical enterprises in Jiangsu Province and along the Yangtze River. This will effectively improve the multi-channel resource supply capability for end-users along the Yangtze River. The pipeline plays a vital role in optimizing the layout of the oil and gas pipeline network in the Yangtze River Delta region and enabling the unified allocation of imported crude oil resources.
