Fidelity International has announced the appointment of Steven Cheung as Director of ETF Specialist Sales for Asia Pacific, excluding Japan, based in Hong Kong, where he will report directly to Thomas Taw, the regional ETF Distribution Head for Asia Pacific outside Japan.

Prior to joining Fidelity International, Steven Cheung served at BlackRock as the Head of Wealth Management for iShares across Greater China and Southeast Asia, where he was responsible for distributing ETF products to a diverse client base, including asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, private banks, and digital platforms, while also championing the regional rollout of active ETFs and digital asset-linked ETF offerings.

The asset management firm stated that, given the sustained surge in investor demand for ETFs, Fidelity International remains committed to broadening its ETF footprint across the Asia Pacific region, leveraging its global investment research capabilities to deliver a robust product lineup that spans active strategies and benchmark-enhanced index products tailored to investor needs.

In his new role, Steven Cheung will spearhead the growth of Fidelity’s ETF business in Asia Pacific, excluding Japan, collaborating closely with distribution, product, and investment research teams to deepen client relationships and elevate market penetration for Fidelity’s ETF suite.

Thomas Taw commented, “Investors are increasingly gravitating toward flexible and efficient investment vehicles, driving sustained momentum in ETF demand, and Steven Cheung brings deep expertise in ETF distribution, a strong client network across the region, and a proven track record of advancing ETF adoption across a wide range of client segments.”

“His arrival will further augment our ability to deliver innovative ETF solutions to clients, while also expanding our ETF operations and supporting our continued business growth throughout the region.”
