The Gansu Provincial Market Supervision Administration has announced the results of its first-quarter 2026 provincial quality supervision and random inspection for four types of agricultural supplies, including agricultural fertilizers and agricultural plastic film.
A total of 135 batches of products from 118 production and sales entities were inspected, covering four product categories: agricultural machinery, agricultural plastic film, drip irrigation tape, and agricultural fertilizers. The inspection identified 9 non-conforming batches, including 3 batches of agricultural machinery, 1 batch of agricultural plastic film, 4 batches of drip irrigation tape, and 1 batch of agricultural fertilizers.
For agricultural machinery, 40 batches from 40 entities in 8 cities were inspected, revealing 3 non-conforming batches (7.50% failure rate). Specific issues included throttle control mechanisms for one garden management machine and protective devices/instruction manuals for two chaff cutters.
In the agricultural plastic film category, 15 batches from 15 producers in 6 cities and Lanzhou New Area were inspected. Four batches failed to meet standards (26.67% failure rate), primarily due to thickness limit deviations and average thickness variations.
Regarding drip irrigation tape, 20 batches from 19 producers in 6 cities were tested. Four batches were non-conforming (5.0% failure rate), with issues including pull-out resistance, carbon black content, and internal diameter limit deviations.
For agricultural fertilizers, 60 batches from 44 entities across 12 prefectures were inspected. One batch of organic-inorganic compound fertilizer failed (1.67% failure rate) due to non-compliant pH levels.
Authorities have implemented measures including removal from shelves, seizure, and detention of non-conforming products in accordance with relevant regulations. Producers and sellers of defective products have been instructed to implement corrective actions, with follow-up supervision, administrative penalties, and technical support provided to ensure quality improvement.
