A public welfare initiative aimed at enhancing emergency medical response capabilities in public transport has recently been implemented in Wanbailin District, Taiyuan City. The Energy Branch and the Thirteenth Branch of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party, together with the Fourth Branch of the Taiyuan Municipal Committee, collaborated with the Wanbailin District Kangji Emergency Rescue Training Center and the Taiyuan Public Transport Group. They jointly donated and deployed 21 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across the entire fleet of Taiyuan's Bus Route 1, establishing a mobile emergency medical barrier along this major urban artery.

Known as the "First Vehicle of Bingzhou," Taiyuan's Bus Route 1 boasts extensive coverage, high daily passenger volume, and a significant proportion of middle-aged and elderly riders. This charitable initiative precisely targets the public transport environment, pre-positioning emergency medical resources directly inside the buses. With the full-line deployment of the 21 AED units, the emergency medical response system for Route 1 has been enhanced, effectively bridging the "last kilometer" of emergency rescue for bus travel.

In the event of a critical situation such as a passenger experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, drivers and staff can immediately access the equipment, enabling on-site intervention during the crucial "golden four minutes" for first aid, thereby significantly increasing the chances of a successful resuscitation. The devices are user-friendly and strategically placed, allowing specially trained personnel to operate them proficiently. This initiative directly addresses the public's concern about delayed emergency response and lack of available equipment during travel.

As a benchmark for urban public transport services, the full-scale AED pilot program on Taiyuan's Bus Route 1 not only elevates its own emergency service capabilities but also provides a replicable and scalable model for improving emergency medical equipment deployment across the city's entire bus network.

"This donation represents a practical initiative grounded in public needs and dedicated to serving the people. The participating units have proactively integrated high-quality medical and public transport resources, transforming social resource advantages into tangible benefits for citizens," stated a relevant official from Wanbailin District. The next steps will involve deepening multi-party collaboration, gathering broader social support, and enriching the range of public convenience services to ensure emergency protection consistently accompanies citizens on their journeys, genuinely enhancing their sense of fulfillment, happiness, and security during travel.
