CSPC Innovation Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd. (300765.SZ) has announced that its controlling subsidiary, Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Yiling Biotech"), recently received a Drug Clinical Trial Approval Notice for SYS6041 (a folate receptor ADC) from the National Medical Products Administration and will commence clinical trials shortly.

SYS6041 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting folate receptor alpha (FRα). The FRα antibody component binds to FRα on the surface of tumor cells. Following internalization into the tumor cell, the linker is specifically cleaved by cathepsins, releasing the small-molecule toxin—a topoisomerase I inhibitor—which kills the tumor cell and can exert a bystander effect to non-specifically kill surrounding tumor tissue cells.

The potential indications for SYS6041 include solid tumors such as gynecological cancers and lung cancer. Existing data from Phase I clinical trials indicate that SYS6041 is competitive among similar products. The newly approved combination therapy clinical trial exploratory study for SYS6041 will further expand its potential clinical application scenarios.
