Wei Yuan Receives JTC Approval to Redevelop New Singapore Headquarters

Bulletin Express
08/28

Wei Yuan Holdings Limited has secured formal consent from Singapore’s JTC Corporation to undertake extensive redevelopment of its newly leased premises at 18 Chin Bee Drive, the site designated as the group’s future headquarters.

The consent letter, dated 17 August 2026 and accepted by the company’s wholly owned subsidiary WGC on 28 August 2026, authorises a two-year redevelopment programme. Key works include partial demolition of existing structures, construction of new facilities at a combined gross plot ratio of 1.40—significantly higher than the current ratios of 0.85 and 0.90 across the two land lots—and installation of solar panels to meet local regulatory standards.

Under the terms agreed with JTC, Wei Yuan must deliver the project within 24 months of the consent date. Failure to meet the schedule, or completion at a gross plot ratio below the existing levels, would constitute a breach of the lease, triggering potential penalties such as site re-entry by JTC and compensation based on replacement value.

The group has not yet awarded construction contracts or obtained cost quotations. Contractor selection will begin shortly. Depending on the eventual contract sums, the redevelopment may be classified as a notifiable transaction under Chapter 14 of the Hong Kong Listing Rules, prompting further disclosure once terms are finalised.

The board considers the redevelopment—designed to consolidate office, warehouse and dormitory functions—consistent with the company’s long-term operational plans and beneficial to shareholders.
