Newborntown Technology (09911) climbed more than 5% in early trading on Tuesday, extending its recent upward momentum amid robust first-half results and ongoing share repurchase activity. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 4.58%, trading at HK$9.355, with a turnover of approximately HK$70.33 million. The upbeat market response comes on the heels of the company's impressive earnings report, which highlighted continued high growth in its top line.

The company reported first-half revenue of US$607 million, marking a year-on-year increase of roughly 37%. Profit attributable to equity shareholders reached approximately US$99 million, up about 45.8% compared to the same period last year, while adjusted EBITDA stood at around US$111 million, reflecting a 23.6% year-on-year growth. These results underscore the effectiveness of the company's strategic focus on monetizing high-emotional-value products and expanding into high-potential global markets.

Analysts at Guotai Junan Securities issued a research note highlighting that Newborntown Technology is dedicated to converting social currency through its high-emotional-value product offerings, positioning itself in promising global markets. The firm believes that its core product portfolio builds a solid competitive moat, while its newer products are progressively demonstrating long-term value, which bodes well for sustained business performance.

In a separate development, Newborntown Technology has been consistently repurchasing its shares in recent sessions. On September 9, the company spent approximately HK$1.98 million to buy back 226,000 shares. Since the beginning of September, the company has cumulatively repurchased around 1.57 million shares, with a total investment of about HK$13.87 million, signaling management's confidence in the company's prospects and commitment to enhancing shareholder value.
