On September 18, the Qintang District of Guigang City marked a significant milestone in its new energy industry development with the official signing of a project dedicated to the resourceful utilization of 30,000 tons of spent lithium iron phosphate batteries annually. The initiative, fully funded by Hangzhou Zhongwu Yishun Technology Co., Ltd., represents a key achievement in the district's efforts to deepen its presence in the new energy sector and enhance its green circular economy chain. This development is expected to inject substantial momentum into the region's modern industrial growth.
This project signing underscores the district's strategic alignment with its local "4+3" modern industrial system framework. In recent years, Qintang District has continuously refined its industrial structure, solidifying its four pillar industries, including forest product processing, green chemicals, green building materials, and food processing, while prioritizing the cultivation of three distinctive sectors, namely new energy, biomedicine, and small appliances. The new energy industry has emerged as the core growth driver for the region's economic transformation, evidenced by the successive landing and commissioning of clean energy and energy storage supporting projects that continue to amplify industrial clustering effects.
With a total planned investment of approximately 600 million yuan, the project will occupy 135 mu of land and feature comprehensive construction content, including raw material receiving and storage centers, a pre-treatment workshop for spent batteries, hydrometallurgical recovery production lines, environmental protection facilities, and complete supporting auxiliary engineering. The initiative focuses on the harmless treatment and resource regeneration of spent lithium iron phosphate batteries, employing advanced processes to achieve efficient recovery and recycling of battery materials, in line with China's "dual carbon" strategy and the green development trends of the new energy industry.
As a premium new energy circular economy initiative, the project promises significant economic, environmental, and social benefits. Once fully constructed and operational, it is projected to generate an annual output value of 785 million yuan and annual tax contributions of approximately 71 million yuan. Additionally, the project will create 130 stable employment opportunities, effectively boosting local income and job growth. This signing further addresses the gap at the end of the new energy industry chain in Qintang District, completing the "production-use-recycling-regeneration" closed-loop industrial ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Qintang District will continue to focus on extending, supplementing, and strengthening the new energy industry chain, fully optimizing the business environment, accelerating project implementation, production, and operation, and promoting the large-scale, high-end, and green development of the region's new energy sector.
Following a decade of rapid development, the power battery recycling industry is witnessing a surge in the number of large-scale, compliant enterprises. The Battery Recycling Committee projects that by 2030, China's retired battery volume will exceed 2.8 million tons, with an industry output value reaching 300 billion yuan. The sector is currently at the starting point of a long-term prosperity cycle for the next decade, set to evolve into a burgeoning green industry.
In recent years, the rapid development of electric transportation and the significant surge in lithium demand from new energy storage technologies, coupled with shifts in the international landscape, have presented severe challenges to lithium resource security. Consequently, the battery recycling industry's demand for efficient, innovative green recovery technologies has become increasingly urgent. With the implementation of the new interim measures for power battery recycling on April 1 and the mandatory enforcement of the new national battery safety standard GB38031-2025 on July 1, the industry has fully entered an era of stringent regulation and compliance.
The Power Battery Recycling Network will host the "2026 China Power Battery Recycling Industry Annual Conference" on October 15-16, 2026, in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The conference theme is "Green Lithium Sources, Low-Carbon Regeneration." We sincerely invite you and relevant personnel from your organization to attend. The conference targets battery and battery material manufacturers, resource recovery companies, environmental protection technology firms, automobile dismantling enterprises, logistics companies, vehicle manufacturers, testing institutions, universities and research institutes, recycling equipment companies, and investment and financing organizations. The conference is organized by Baoding Sito Information Technology Co., Ltd. and Baoding Jucheng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., which are responsible for payment collection and invoice issuance.

We welcome you to join the Battery Recycling Committee of the China Electronic Energy Saving Technology Association. Established in 2016, this professional committee is the industry's earliest organization dedicated to retired power battery recycling and spent battery material regeneration, and pioneered the construction of a power battery recycling expert think tank. It provides effective support in green recycling of retired power batteries, informatization in battery green manufacturing, China's dual carbon assessment, carbon footprint database construction, international trade, talent training, standard formulation, appraisal certification, technological innovation, and industrialization of scientific achievements. The committee has established platforms and database resources in battery recycling standards, carbon footprint databases, and carbon footprint accounting model construction and evaluation. It has undertaken and completed numerous projects commissioned by national and local governments and maintains a think tank of over 60 nationally renowned experts. Currently boasting more than 600 member units, the Battery Recycling Committee has become the most authoritative industry organization in the battery recycling field, serving as a major platform for conferences, exhibitions, and standard development after more than eight years of growth. We invite you to join this network of 600 member units to contribute to the high-quality development of China's battery recycling industry.
