Based on the refined oil product pricing mechanism, the adjustment will take effect at midnight on September 24th. With the statistical tracking for this adjustment now 30 percent complete, expectations for a rise continue to strengthen.
At the opening of this pricing cycle, the initial projection for the first day already indicated an increase of 500 yuan per ton. Over the past few days, international crude oil prices have fluctuated, yet the anticipated hike has continued to climb. Currently, the forecast suggests petrol and diesel will rise by 600 yuan per ton and 580 yuan per ton, respectively. Converted to per-liter terms, this means 92-octane petrol is expected to increase by 0.48 yuan per liter, 95-octane petrol by 0.51 yuan per liter, and 0-grade diesel by 0.5 yuan per liter.
Looking back at this year's pricing actions, 18 of the 25 scheduled adjustment windows have now been completed, with the trend showing more increases than decreases: 12 hikes, 1 pause, and 5 cuts. On a cumulative basis, petrol has risen by a total of 1,980 yuan per ton and diesel by 1,905 yuan per ton, which translates to an increase of 1.58 to 1.69 yuan per liter. For a typical family car with a 50-liter tank, filling up now costs an additional 79 to 85 yuan compared to the start of the year.
