On October 30, JD.com's internal newsletter announced that Richard Liu, founder and chairman of JD.com, purchased KFC meals for all full-time delivery riders of JD Daojia (JD’s food delivery service) as a token of appreciation for their hard work during the 11.11 shopping festival's strong start.
Additionally, JD Daojia and KFC have jointly launched an exclusive "Dongge’s Treat" combo package, available for order on the JD App. Consumers can access the promotion by clicking "Instant Delivery" on the homepage and selecting a nearby KFC store.
Since March this year, JD.com has taken the lead in signing formal labor contracts with full-time delivery riders, providing them with full social insurance and housing fund coverage, with JD covering the riders' personal contribution portion. Currently, JD Daojia employs over 150,000 full-time riders. The company ensures three 100% commitments for these riders: 100% formal labor contracts, 100% comprehensive social insurance and housing fund coverage, and 100% access to employee benefits.
Beyond social security, JD’s full-time riders enjoy statutory holidays, paid annual leave, family gifts, health check-ups, paid sick leave, and access to a charity fund. High-performing riders also have opportunities for career advancement, such as promotions to assistant station manager or station manager roles.
According to JD’s newsletter, following Richard Liu’s KFC treat, JD Daojia will collaborate with over 100 restaurant brands and celebrities during this year’s 11.11 festival to sponsor more dining promotions for users nationwide.
