Public Fin Hold (SEHK: 00626) has announced its unaudited interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2026.

The group reported a net interest income of HK$571 million, representing an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period last year.

Net profit attributable to shareholders was HK$25.19 million, a substantial surge of 881.3% year-on-year.

Basic earnings per share for the period stood at HK$0.023.

Analysis of Financial Performance

During the review period, the group's interest income decreased by HK$49.9 million, or 5.1%, to HK$928.5 million.

This decline was primarily attributed to reduced interest earnings from debt securities investments due to falling interest rates.

Total interest expenses saw a more significant reduction, falling by HK$90.6 million, or 20.2%, to HK$357.3 million.

This decrease was mainly driven by lower funding costs associated with time deposits.

The net effect was a HK$40.7 million, or 7.7%, increase in net interest income to HK$571.2 million.

Non-Interest Income and Market Conditions

The group's non-interest income decreased by HK$33.6 million, or 21.7%, to HK$121 million.

This reduction was primarily due to decreased fee and commission income from wealth management services, stock brokerage, and securities management.

The company cited increased external market volatility and a decline in the Hang Seng Index during the period, which led clients to adopt a more cautious and conservative approach towards securities trading.
