Held from September 5th to 14th in Kunming, the 13th Yunnan Provincial Games for the Disabled and the 7th Special Olympics saw outstanding performances from Qiaojia County's contingent.

Qiaojia sent 20 athletes to compete as part of the Zhaotong delegation, and after intense competition, they brought home an impressive haul of 5 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

The athletes demonstrated remarkable tenacity throughout the events. In the men's Special Olympics basketball Group A, Qiaojia athlete Li Zhongchao helped his team secure a gold medal. Li Chaojun delivered a standout performance, capturing three gold medals in the men's T11 1500m, 400m, and 800m races, while also earning two bronze medals in the visually impaired men's 4x400m and 4x100m relays. Wang Jiyue claimed gold in the women's T20 200m and silver in both the women's 400m and 100m.

In swimming, Cui Jinju secured two bronze medals in the men's S5 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle. The table tennis arena also proved fruitful: Xu Meimei won a bronze in the women's intellectual disability singles, Du Lunli took silver in the same category, Zhou Huan earned a bronze in the men's intellectual disability Group A singles, and Du Lunhong clinched a silver in the men's intellectual disability Group A singles.

The Qiaojia County Special Education School actively encouraged its students to participate. Athletes including Li Zhongchao, Wang Jiyue, Du Lunhong, Du Lunli, Xu Meimei, and Zhou Huan faced formidable opponents with composure and courage, overcoming physical and mental challenges to give their all in every event. Their efforts resulted in an outstanding tally of 2 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

These accomplishments fully exemplify the students' spirit of self-improvement, resilience, and positivity. They also underscore the school's commitment to holistic education, integrating sports with academics and using competition as a catalyst for growth.
