Japan's stock market is likely to rise as fears of a deepening conflict with Iran temporarily subside.

The Nikkei index futures on the Singapore Exchange climbed 1.2% to 65,460 points. Following US President Donald Trump's decision to halt a major escalation of military action against Iran, investors are now closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and crude oil prices.

The Nikkei index fell 2.7% on Friday to close at 64,611.15 points.
