SolarEdge Technologies (SEDG) saw its stock price plummet 14.70% during Wednesday's intraday trading session. The sharp decline followed the company's release of its first-quarter 2026 financial results before the market opened.

The solar technology company reported an adjusted loss per share of $0.43 for the quarter, which missed analyst estimates of a $0.28 loss by a significant 53.57%. While revenue of $310.5 million exceeded expectations of $305.2 million, the substantial earnings miss weighed heavily on investor sentiment. The company's Q2 revenue guidance of $325 million to $355 million brackets analyst expectations, but management indicated that at the midpoint of their outlook, they expect to be close to breakeven operating profitability, falling short of market hopes for faster improvement.

SolarEdge has reported six consecutive quarters of losses, and the wider-than-expected Q1 loss combined with guidance suggesting only marginal profitability improvement appears to have driven the significant selling pressure. The stock's decline comes despite a 46% year-over-year revenue increase, highlighting investor focus on the company's ongoing profitability challenges.
