China's First Open-Source Community for Embodied AI Datasets Established

On March 18, during the OpenAtom "Campus Tour" event held in Shanghai, the Open-Source Dataset Working Group under the Artificial Intelligence Open-Source Community of the OpenAtom Open Source Foundation was officially launched. Concurrently, the Embodied Intelligence Open-Source Dataset Community was established, marking China's first open-source community dedicated to datasets for embodied intelligence.

The newly launched working group aims to collaborate with industry players, research institutions, and standards organizations to systematically advance the development of technical specifications, standard systems, and security compliance for open-source datasets. It will focus on addressing key challenges such as the lack of unified industry standards and insufficient ecosystem collaboration.

Initiated by Leju Robotics, the Embodied Intelligence Open-Source Dataset Community will concentrate on the open sharing of real-world data and ecosystem development in the field of embodied intelligence. Through open sharing and continuous operation, it will release full-size humanoid robot real-machine data and model training toolchains, build a developer ecosystem, and incubate innovative teams. The community aims to serve as a collaborative bridge for global developers, research teams, and enterprises, accelerating the research, development, and industrial application of embodied intelligence technologies.

During the event, the OpenLET dataset for "Tactile Dexterous Manipulation + Whole-Body Movement" was also released. The dexterous manipulation data provides multimodal information such as fingertip pressure matrices and six-dimensional force data, achieving full-chain synchronization of "vision-force-touch-action." The whole-body coordination data covers control signals for 41 joints, with task dimensions extending from basic walking to challenging whole-body movements like deep squats and bending. This dataset is the first open-source, full-size humanoid robot whole-body coordinated multimodal real-machine dataset in China.

Cheng Xiaoming, Chairman of the OpenAtom Open Source Foundation, stated that the foundation adheres to a neutral and open principle and has incubated 52 open-source projects, significantly promoting the development of the software industry and empowering digital transformation across various sectors. Moving forward, the foundation will leverage its platform advantages to collaborate with all parties in promoting the prosperity of open-source datasets. It also invites stakeholders to join the open-source ecosystem to foster deep integration between open-source data and artificial intelligence, making open source a key driver for technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
