On May 28, Bank of China announced that its Sydney branch plans to issue USD 500 million in floating-rate notes maturing in 2031 and CNY 2 billion in notes with a 1.65% interest rate maturing in 2029, under a USD 4 billion medium-term note program. The bank has applied to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for the listing and trading of these debt securities, which will be offered exclusively to professional investors. The approval for listing and trading is expected to take effect on May 29, 2026.
