Cyberport is continuing its push to develop Hong Kong's digital asset and fintech ecosystem, today unveiling two digital asset and fintech initiatives: the "Blockchain and Digital Asset Pilot Subsidy Scheme 2.0," commissioned by the Hong Kong Treasury Bureau, and the collaborative platform tConnect Launchpad, supported by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. These projects aim to further promote industry innovation and collaboration, facilitating more real-world asset tokenization, blockchain, and digital asset implementation solutions.

Hong Kong Treasury Secretary Christopher Hui stated: "Hong Kong is a leading global international fintech hub, and in the latest Global Financial Centres Index report, Hong Kong's fintech ranking continues to hold the top spot globally. This is the result of years of dedicated effort by both the government and the industry. Among these efforts, promoting innovative applications and broadening implementation scenarios are key elements in driving the industry forward. Given the enthusiastic response from the industry to the first Blockchain and Digital Asset Pilot Subsidy Scheme, and the tangible benefits the project outcomes have brought to the market, the government is once again supporting Cyberport in launching the 'Blockchain and Digital Asset Pilot Subsidy Scheme 2.0.' We will continue to optimize and establish the relevant regulatory framework, and will keep working with Cyberport and the industry to promote the healthy, responsible, and sustainable development of Hong Kong's digital asset market."

HKMA Chief Executive Eddie Yue stated: "Financial tokenization is one of the cornerstones of the HKMA's 'Fintech 2030' vision. The HKMA is collaborating with Cyberport to implement tConnect Launchpad, establishing a dedicated platform to facilitate experimentation with novel tokenization use cases, connecting blockchain innovation technology with practical financial applications, bridging financial institutions with the tokenization community, and building a vibrant ecosystem to accelerate implementation, deepen collaboration among all parties, and create new value for Hong Kong's financial industry."

Cyberport Chief Executive Officer Rocky Cheng stated: "Hong Kong's digital asset development is moving from exploratory innovation to a new stage of scaled application. The 'Blockchain and Digital Asset Pilot Subsidy Scheme' launched last year received an enthusiastic market response, with over half of the shortlisted pilot projects successfully commercialized—an encouraging outcome that reflects the strong market demand for innovative digital asset solutions. Cyberport hopes that through the 'Blockchain and Digital Asset Pilot Subsidy Scheme 2.0' and tConnect Launchpad, it can accelerate the implementation of innovative applications such as real-world asset tokenization, institutional-grade DeFi, on-chain finance, and the agent economy, and promote greater collaboration and technological integration between the financial and innovation and technology sectors."
