A large-scale drone attack targeted Moscow and its surrounding areas from the night of September 19 into the early morning of September 20 local time, resulting in at least two deaths and six injuries.

Moscow's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, reported that air defense systems intercepted a total of 186 drones within the city limits. An oil refinery was damaged during the assault, and two of Moscow's four airports temporarily suspended operations.
