CGN Power’s 2025 ESG Report Highlights 232.65 TWh Clean Output, 70.45 Mt Standard-Coal Savings

CGN Power released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report, detailing progress in climate action, safety performance, talent development and supply-chain resilience.

Clean-energy contribution • Operating fleet generated 232.65 TWh of on-grid nuclear power, avoiding 70.45 million t of standard-coal consumption and 214.97 million t of CO₂ emissions. • Total installed capacity rose to 31.84 GW across 28 units in operation, with a further 24.22 GW under construction. • Average unit capability factor reached 92.65 %, while 83.33 % of WANO indicators achieved world top-decile performance.

Safety and environmental indicators • Zero level-2 or above nuclear incidents, zero workplace fatalities and zero significant compliance penalties during the year. • Maximum individual radiation dose stayed well below national limits; all radioactive releases were “far below” regulatory thresholds. • Radioactive solid waste generation was contained below 25 m³ per GW-class unit, meeting the company’s 14th Five-Year Plan target.

Climate-transition roadmap • Comprehensive energy-consumption intensity per RMB10,000 of output fell 15 % from the 2020 baseline, meeting the 2025 goal. • Scenario analysis under RCP2.6 and RCP8.5 assessed both physical and transition risks; no material impacts recorded in 2025.

Human-capital development • Headcount rose to 22,928, with women representing 11.63 % of staff. • Average training time totalled 142.37 hours per employee; all staff received training. • “Egret” leadership pipeline delivered 26 programs to 3,597 participants; 249 employees obtained reactor-operator licences.

Supply-chain governance • Qualified supplier base expanded to 4,216 (96 % domestic); 432 new vendors added after stringent qualification reviews. • All critical suppliers undergo ESG-linked performance evaluations; procurement-price disclosure rate reached 100 %.

Community and rural vitalisation • Rural-support spending totalled RMB 28.54 million, funding 13 projects in Guangxi and Guangdong. • “Egret Class” education initiative now covers 20 classes and has helped more than 600 students enter university. • Public engagement included 250,000 visitors to 23 nuclear-science halls and 100,000+ students reached via “Nuclear Science in Schools”.

Corporate governance and integrity • Company maintained an “AAA/AA” suite of domestic ESG ratings; overseas ratings include S&P Global 36/100, FTSE ESG 3.0 and MSCI “BB”. • No major compliance or operational-risk incidents; 100 % of directors and employees completed anti-corruption training.

CGN Power affirmed that its 2025 ESG Report was approved by the Board on 25 March 2026, with third-party assurance provided by Ernst & Young Hua Ming LLP.
