On May 12, local time, Margo Martin, a staff member, special assistant, and communications advisor to U.S. President Trump, shared the "Air Force One" menu for the China trip on social media. The menu features "American Chinese" dishes such as beef chow mein, spring rolls, and fortune cookies.

The menu description reads: Beef Chow Mein: Sliced flank steak with onions, bell peppers, Shanghai bok choy, and lo mein noodles stir-fried in a sesame and soy sauce; served with spring rolls, a fortune cookie, and a beverage of choice.

Inside the fortune cookie is the message: "Welcome aboard Air Force One."

U.S. media commented that this represents a significant shift from President Trump's usual in-flight meal preferences. Some outlets humorously noted that the American side seemed eager to enjoy Chinese cuisine even before arriving in China.

President Trump's fondness for fast food is well-known. In November 2024, his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., posted a photo on X showing key members of the Trump team eating McDonald's on the president's private plane. That same month, Trump was photographed sharing McDonald's with Elon Musk and others aboard his private aircraft.
