What should elderly individuals living alone do in an emergency? How can children ensure their parents' safety from afar? Can daily elderly care needs be met conveniently in one place? To address these pressing concerns, the first 24-hour emergency elderly care station in Hongkou District, named "Yiyang Zaichuanbei · Happiness One-Stop Yongde Community Home Service Station," has commenced its trial operation. This initiative expands the district's community care model, adding an extra layer of security for senior citizens.

The station is located at No. 109, Chuan Highway, North Sichuan Road Subdistrict, and is operated by a third-party professional organization. Covering approximately 127 square meters, it features ten functional zones: a silver-age store, health testing, bone density and physique assessment, a healthy grocery basket, 24-hour emergency services, senior hearing tests, adaptive equipment trials, elderly care consultations, nutritionist guidance, and exoskeleton experience. On its trial opening day, a bustling elderly-friendly service market was held, with many seniors and their families visiting to explore. The 24-hour emergency service demonstration area drew particular interest. "This is the 24-hour emergency service zone, with staff on duty around the clock. It is equipped with health monitors, emergency call buttons, and infrared body sensors. When an elderly person triggers an alert via a one-button call or voice command from their home, staff within the subdistrict can arrive on-site within 15 minutes," explained Shen Jie, a staff member from Shanghai Shihuazhai Elderly Care Service Co., Ltd. "During home visits, our staff carries an emergency service kit containing common instruments for measuring blood pressure and oxygen saturation, emergency medications for various injuries, and items like quick-acting heart pills to ensure timely aid."

"Madam, if you encounter an emergency, press this red button or shout loudly, and it will automatically dial," a staff member demonstrated while installing a 24-hour emergency response device and health monitor for 81-year-old Yan Yinxia, a solitary elderly resident. "Living alone, this is a huge help. I can call for help in any situation, and my daughter will feel much more at ease," said Yan.

Inside the station, a large screen collects and aggregates real-time health data from all elderly individuals who have installed emergency call equipment. "This is the display screen for the North Sichuan Road Subdistrict's 24-hour emergency service center. For seniors with emergency terminals, their health monitoring data is centralized here. When abnormalities occur, the system alerts us. This data can also be synced to family members' phones, keeping them informed about their loved ones' sleep patterns and physical indicators," noted Yang Qiao, deputy general manager of Shanghai Shihuazhai Elderly Care Service Co., Ltd.

Beyond emergency response and health monitoring, the station provides comprehensive, one-stop elderly care services. These include in-home nursing, rehabilitation therapy, and daily care, bringing professional services from nursing homes directly to seniors. Customized dietary plans are available, with free "healthy grocery basket" delivery for those aged 80 and above. Through a smart elderly care system and a community-based mini-program, seniors can conveniently access policy information, products, and services. "Having such a facility nearby is incredibly convenient! Many of us have high blood pressure and need a place to check it regularly. Now it's right here," said resident Lu Wen after trying the blood pressure service, adding that the community's elderly now have both safety and better access to care.
