On March 6, Great Wall Motor Chairman Wei Jianjun released a video apologizing for the recent poster plagiarism incident.

Wei Jianjun stated, "Yesterday, the Wei brand officially announced me as the endorser for the V9X model and released a poster. Observant netizens noticed that the poster I appeared in was suspected of plagiarism. I have seen all the feedback from netizens, and after verification, that poster was indeed plagiarized. There can be no excuses."

"Here, I apologize to Range Rover, to the original poster's designer, and to the netizen friends who trust me. Both I and Great Wall Motor are willing to bear all the resulting legal and financial responsibilities," Wei Jianjun said. "The primary responsibility for such an issue lies with me, the endorser, for not thoroughly reviewing and approving it. I will also engage in deep reflection on management and processes to resolutely prevent any plagiarism."

He added, "Great Wall Motor has always adhered to the spirit of originality. In our future work, we hope the broad netizen and user community will supervise us, point out any shortcomings at any time, and urge our progress."

Previously, the Great Wall Wei brand officially announced Chairman Wei Jianjun as the endorser for the Wei brand V9X. Subsequently, some netizens questioned that the new Wei brand vehicle's advertising design was a "copycat work." A netizen posted on a social media platform alleging that the Wei brand V9X's advertising design plagiarized the creative work they had done for the Range Rover Sport.
