Alphabet has revealed plans for a significant equity financing round totaling $80 billion.

Berkshire Hathaway is making a substantial $10 billion investment into the parent company of Google, signaling a deeper commitment to artificial intelligence.

The capital raise is structured into three distinct components.

It includes a $30 billion concurrent underwritten public offering and a $40 billion at-the-market offering program.

Additionally, Berkshire Hathaway will contribute $10 billion through a private placement.

Berkshire's investment will be split equally, with $5 billion allocated to purchase Class A common stock at $351.81 per share and another $5 billion for Class C capital stock at $348.20 per share.

The proceeds are intended to fund the expansion of Alphabet's AI computing infrastructure.

Following the announcement, Alphabet's stock price declined by more than 2% in after-hours trading.
