A recent video circulating online shows a Li Auto vehicle repeatedly failing to execute an automatic parking maneuver in an underground garage, making constant adjustments without successfully parking, causing a backlog of traffic behind. The owner eventually had to manually reverse into the spot under the watch of a crowd.

On Tuesday, the topic of Li Auto's automatic parking function failing with repeated adjustments trended on social media. In response, Li Auto's product line manager, Li Xinyang, stated that after looking into the situation with the user, it was determined that an electric bicycle was parked behind the space, obstructing the automated parking process and leading to the incident.

He also revealed that the company is working with its autonomous driving team to optimize parking capabilities in complex scenarios, with an update planned for the 9.1 version scheduled to be released in September. Li Auto will continue to enhance its assisted driving features and improve alerts for parking obstructions in the future.

Previously, the owner involved also responded on social media, explaining that they were using the "park from outside the vehicle" feature. Standing at a distance, they watched the car adjust back and forth, only realizing upon approaching that an e-bike was occupying the space behind, causing the system to repeatedly attempt to find an angle to avoid it.
