To advance the 2026 National Cybersecurity Awareness Week campaign under the theme "Cybersecurity for the People, Cybersecurity by the People — Smart Era, Cyber Protection," the Changhai County Cyberspace Affairs Office, together with the county's Public Security Bureau Cyber Security Brigade and the three major telecom operators — China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom — recently held a centralized awareness event in front of the Lianhua Supermarket on the commercial street.
At the event, staff set up consultation booths, displayed banners, and distributed informational brochures to educate passersby on national security knowledge, personal information protection, and guarding against online rumors, while also answering questions on the spot. Over 1,000 promotional materials were distributed during the day, reaching a hundred or more residents and bringing cybersecurity knowledge directly to the community.
The interactive format of face-to-face communication and immediate Q&A made cybersecurity information more relatable and accessible to everyday life. Many residents paused to seek advice, and through the staff's patient explanations, they gained a deeper understanding of how to protect personal data and prevent the spread of online misinformation.
This concentrated campaign serves as a key component of the county's broader Cybersecurity Awareness Week activities. Moving forward, Changhai County plans to focus on vulnerable groups such as the elderly and teenagers, delivering targeted science-based outreach to encourage safe internet habits, promote resistance to rumor-spreading, and safeguard personal information — together building a strong line of defense for nationwide cybersecurity awareness.
