Major Surge: South Korea's KOSPI Soars Over 3% to Reclaim 7000 Points, Samsung and SK Hynix Jump; Japan's Nikkei Gains Over 400 Points

Equity markets in Japan and South Korea experienced a strong upward move on July 23rd.

By the latest trading data, South Korea's benchmark KOSPI index had surged more than 3%, climbing back above the 7,000-point level.

Major constituent Samsung Electronics Co Ltd advanced more than 4%, while SK Hynix Inc saw gains exceeding 4.5%.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index was up 0.74%, an increase of over 400 points.

This rally followed a session where the three major U.S. stock indices closed slightly lower overnight.

The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.57%, the S&P 500 declined 0.14%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged down 0.01%.

Among notable movers, Super Micro Computer Inc surged nearly 20% after significantly raising its gross margin guidance for the fourth fiscal quarter, with new orders for the period exceeding $600 billion.

Dell Technologies Inc rose more than 9%, marking its largest single-day gain since June 2nd.

SpaceX shares dropped over 6%, hitting a new low since its public listing.

Most mega-cap technology stocks declined, with Meta Platforms Inc down more than 2%.

Tesla Inc, Alphabet Inc (Google), Amazon.com Inc, and Microsoft Corp all fell over 1%.

Netflix Inc and Apple Inc posted modest declines, while NVIDIA Corp gained more than 2%.
