Fuzhou Changle Airport's Terminal 2 officially opened its doors on September 16, marking a significant milestone for the airport. Fujian province, known as a major homeland for overseas Chinese, has seen a steady rise in inbound tourism, with over 430,000 passenger arrivals at the port in the first half of this year—an 11.6% increase compared to the same period last year, and the fifth consecutive year of growth.
The newly launched Terminal 2 has introduced state-of-the-art equipment aimed at streamlining the passenger experience. According to on-site reports, travelers can now complete luggage security screening in as little as 8 seconds, with full no-touch clearance achieved in just 15 seconds, setting a new benchmark for efficiency.
Yi Yong, R&D Manager at CGN Baygu Port, explained to reporters that the system leverages highly integrated, information-driven, and intelligent supervision equipment to enable seamless, unified operation across the entire checkpoint. This includes synchronized data collection and analysis for carry-on luggage, body temperature, and facial recognition, allowing for the rapid 8-second baggage inspection and the swift 15-second no-sensor clearance process.
