Tencent Completes HKD 100.28 Million Share Buyback; Cumulative Repurchases Rise to 46.01 Million Shares

Tencent Holdings Limited reported in its Next Day Disclosure Return that no new shares were issued on 17 September 2026, keeping the company’s outstanding share capital unchanged at 9.10 billion ordinary shares.

Share-buyback activity remained the primary driver of share movements. On 17 September 2026, Tencent repurchased 235,000 shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at prices ranging between HKD 425.20 and HKD 431.00 per share, for a total consideration of HKD 100.28 million. All of these shares are intended for cancellation.

Including this latest tranche, Tencent has repurchased 1.86 million shares between 8–17 September 2026 at average prices of HKD 426.63–439.62 per share, pending cancellation. Year-to-date repurchases under the mandate granted on 13 May 2026 have reached 46.01 million shares, equivalent to 0.50 % of the company’s issued share capital at the time the mandate was approved.

The current mandate permits Tencent to repurchase up to 911.80 million shares. Following the most recent buyback, the company is subject to a 30-day moratorium—until 17 October 2026—during which it cannot issue new shares or sell any treasury shares without prior approval from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Tencent confirmed that all repurchase transactions complied with Main Board Rule 10.06 and related regulatory requirements. No treasury shares were held following the repurchases, and all repurchased shares are slated for cancellation.
