AtkinsRéalis Inc., a Canadian engineering services and nuclear power group, announced on Thursday the maintenance of its quarterly dividend at C$0.02 per share, while reporting a 34% year-over-year increase in net profit for the first quarter.

The company's robust performance was highlighted by first-quarter revenue reaching C$3.0 billion, an 18% increase compared to the same period last year. Net income attributable to shareholders rose to C$92.8 million, or C$0.56 per share, up from C$69.1 million, or C$0.39 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share grew 27% to C$0.80. Adjusted EBITDA increased by 18% to C$253.7 million.

CEO Ian Edwards attributed the strong quarterly results to helping clients address long-term global energy security and aging infrastructure needs. The nuclear power segment performed particularly well, achieving a quarterly revenue record with organic growth of 37%.

The Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of C$0.02 per share, unchanged from the previous quarter, resulting in an annual dividend of C$0.08 per share. The dividend is payable on June 11 to shareholders of record on May 28. Based on the current share price, the dividend yield is approximately 0.09%.

The company ended the quarter with a backlog of C$20.3 billion and maintained a solid cash position, with cash and cash equivalents totaling C$1.1 billion.
