JD.com has announced the official launch of the country's first embodied artificial intelligence data collection community in Suqian. This marks another significant step in the company's development of embodied AI data infrastructure since its March announcement to build the world's largest embodied data collection center.

The data collection community is located in the Hubin New District of Suqian and was jointly established by JD.com and the Suqian municipal government. Since the trial operation began in April, community residents have actively participated. After receiving training from professional technical personnel, data collectors can perform data collection tasks during routine household chores. While performing activities such as wiping tables, folding clothes, organizing storage, and cleaning floors, the head-mounted JD.com self-developed JoyEgoCam terminal captures critical parameters including upper limb trajectories, force distribution, and interactions between individuals and their home environments.

The JoyEgoCam device weighs only 220 grams and features a built-in inference unit and automotive-grade IMU. It enables millimeter-level precision data collection across various environments including homes, outdoors, and production lines, recording natural and realistic movements without disrupting normal life or work.

The data collection community represents part of JD.com's broader strategy for embodied AI data infrastructure. The company has established a complete data pipeline covering "collection-annotation-training-validation" across five core scenarios: logistics and warehousing, industrial manufacturing, healthcare, household services, and urban operations. This system records comprehensive multi-dimensional data including visual, tactile, and spatial trajectory information.

JD.com plans to mobilize over 100,000 internal employees across various professions and 500,000 external personnel from different industries for what it describes as "the largest data collection initiative in human history." The company aims to collect over 10 million hours of high-quality data within two years, positioning itself to become the world's largest embodied AI data company. In Suqian alone, JD.com expects to engage over 100,000 citizens, covering more than one hundred detailed scenarios ranging from homes and offices to factories, logistics operations, retail stores, and sanitation services.
