Oracle Shares Climb Over 3% in Early Trading on Upbeat Q1 Outlook

On Tuesday, Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) shares surged more than 3% during the early session, reaching their highest level since late June, with the stock last trading at $163.31.

The rally comes as the company prepares to release its fiscal 2027 first-quarter earnings later this week, a report that would close out what has been one of the most turbulent 12-month periods in the tech giant's 49-year history.

According to compiled data, analysts currently expect Oracle to post adjusted earnings per share of $1.73 for the quarter, with revenue projected at $19.1 billion—a 28% year-over-year increase, significantly outpacing the roughly 11% growth recorded in the same period last year.

However, the gap between revenue and profit growth warrants attention. The market anticipates adjusted EPS growth of approximately 18.5% for the quarter, notably below the 28% revenue expansion. This suggests Oracle is prioritizing rapid scaling of its cloud infrastructure business at the expense of short-term margins.
