In response, the bureau designated Ercun Village as a core control target, implementing round-the-clock monitoring and duty arrangements while strengthening the early warning response linkage mechanism. Efforts were also made to address village-level disaster prevention shortcomings and enhance Ercun Village's autonomous prevention capabilities, building a solid flood season safety barrier for the entire village and resolutely maintaining the bottom line of zero casualties.

On July 29, Xitugou in Yanguan Town experienced combined upstream and downstream rainfall, creating a sudden and critical flood situation in Ercun Village. The Dunhuang Natural Resources Bureau responded swiftly upon hearing the alert, immediately activating the emergency evacuation plan in conjunction with the Ercun Village committee. Categorized evacuation and resettlement work was carried out, organizing villagers with urban housing to return to the city for safety, while those without resettlement conditions were uniformly housed at the Yanguan Town Elderly Care Service Center. All threatened residents were fully evacuated before the flood peak arrived, achieving "zero residual presence" and efficiently completing the personnel transfer operation.

The flood arrived with ferocious intensity and concentrated water volume, resulting in flooded patrol roads within the village, debris accumulation in waterways, and blocked flood discharge channels. The risk of floodwaters inundating the village and damaging farmland was prominent. Facing the urgent disaster, the bureau made precise assessments and decisive responses, urgently dispatching large machinery to the scene to concentrate efforts on river channel dredging, road reinforcement, and slope protection operations. Waterways were quickly cleared and flood invasion paths were blocked. Through scientific and efficient emergency rescue, the major flood risk in Ercun Village was successfully resolved, effectively safeguarding villagers' homes, farmland, and property safety, and successfully completing this geological disaster defense mission.

Through routine flood prevention duties, refined prevention measures, and steadfast emergency response during sudden dangers, multiple initiatives have genuinely protected the lives and property of Ercun Village residents. Recently, representatives from the Ercun Village Party Branch presented the Dunhuang Natural Resources Bureau with a banner reading "Extending a helping hand during mountain flood emergencies, selfless dedication warms the community," sincerely expressing gratitude for the bureau's diligent flood season rescue efforts and committed guardianship of local safety. The village party branch secretary stated that routine monitoring and early warning, patrol duty, and forward-looking prevention measures firmly held the village's safety bottom line, allowing residents to live and work in peace.
