On October 28, during this year's Hengdian Film Festival, iQiyi Inc. will hold its first open day event for its virtual production flagship studio at Studio 13 in the Hengdian Film and Television Industrial Park. The event will feature real-time technical demonstrations and interactive sessions using the newly upgraded IQStage virtual production system.

Since its establishment in Hengdian in 2022, iQiyi's virtual production studio has been used to create several series, including "Fox Spirit Matchmaker," "The Shadow," "The Dream Returns," and "With Jin Chang'an." Notably, "The Shadow" became the first commercially released Chinese drama to utilize virtual production technology.

By the end of 2024, iQiyi completed the relocation and comprehensive upgrade of its virtual production studio. The flagship studio, now open at Studio 13 in the southern area of the Hengdian Film and Television Industrial Park, features a custom-built 500-square-meter immersive LED wall capable of supporting high-speed filming at 200+ FPS with low grayscale and no scan lines. Additionally, the studio is equipped with iQiyi's pioneering 100-ton waterproof electric turntable, overcoming previous limitations in virtual production, such as underwater scene filming and rapid scene transitions for reverse shots.

To lower the barrier to entry for virtual production technology, iQiyi significantly reduced pricing for its upgraded virtual production system in June. Depending on project requirements, the daily cost for the full hardware and software system (excluding digital scene production) can now start as low as RMB 35,000.
