Net profit attributable to shareholders plunged 89.80% to HK$0.78 million, mainly due to a HK$5.64 million reduction in government grants and a HK$0.86 million fair-value loss on financial assets, compared with a HK$1.80 million gain in the prior-year period. Earnings per share slipped to HK$0.05 cents from HK$0.50 cents.

Segment performance • Feeder shipping, carrier-owned container and barge services generated HK$199.43 million revenue, up 24.3%, despite shipment volume dropping 8.1% to 228,144 TEUs. Route restructuring and higher average selling prices lifted segment gross profit 4.2% to HK$27.28 million. • Sea freight forwarding agency services delivered HK$47.86 million revenue, a 7.6% increase, on stable volume of 7,801 TEUs. Gross profit fell 5.7% to HK$8.42 million owing to higher cost of sales.

Cost dynamics Cost of services rose 22.5% to HK$219.77 million, driven by higher bunker prices and ocean freight charges. Administrative and other operating expenses eased 2.8% to HK$32.68 million, reflecting lower staff costs. Finance costs were broadly flat at HK$0.86 million.

Balance-sheet highlights Total assets stood at HK$359.44 million, with cash and bank balances of HK$140.18 million. Management outlook Ever Harvest anticipates a challenging second half amid global economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and industry overcapacity. Strategic priorities include route expansion across South China, rigorous cost control, and exploring vessel purchases to replace chartered tonnage and enhance operational efficiency.
