For the month of June, the sales volume of mobile phone camera modules for Q TECH (SEHK: 01478) and its joint venture in India reached 39.715 million units. This represents a sequential decrease of 12% but a year-on-year increase of 21.6%.

The combined sales volume for camera modules and LiDAR products totaled 41.5 million units. This figure shows a month-on-month decline of 12.6%, while registering a significant year-on-year growth of 20.8%.

Sales of biometric recognition modules for the period amounted to 11.961 million units, reflecting a sequential decrease of 13.4% and a year-on-year decline of 13.9%.

Reasons for the Sales Trends

The year-on-year growth in camera module and LiDAR sales is attributed primarily to the company securing a larger share of business with several domestic and international smartphone brand clients. Additionally, there was a notable increase in sales of camera modules and LiDAR products designed for automotive applications compared to the same period last year.

The sequential decline in these product categories is mainly due to the cyclical nature of client project schedules.

The decrease in biometric module sales, both sequentially and year-on-year, was driven by similar client project cycle influences and subdued demand in the smartphone market, which has been affected by rising memory chip prices.
