The U.S. Central Command released a statement today (September 5) confirming that its forces targeted three Iranian crude oil carriers. This action followed a reported ballistic missile launch by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against two U.S. warships patrolling regional waters.

According to the statement, an American aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer successfully evaded multiple attacks launched by Iran, with no U.S. casualties reported. After the failed Iranian assault, the U.S. military retaliated by permanently disabling the IRGC's crude oil vessel "Donnie" near Kharg Island and the "Stark 1" off the coast of Jask.

In a separate operation, U.S. forces completely destroyed the empty crude oil tanker "Kellogg" (also referred to as "Noxen") in the Gulf of Oman. After the crew was instructed to abandon the ship, the U.S. military carried out strikes on several vital sections of the vessel, rendering it inoperable.
