The Mexican consumer products platform Betterware de México (NYSE: BWMX) has recently announced two key personnel appointments to drive integration and innovation following its recent acquisition of Tupperware's Latin American operations. The company has appointed two seasoned executives to its board of directors and has engaged a research and development strategy advisor.
According to the company, the newly appointed board members are Juan Pajón and Arquímedes Celis. Pajón, currently the head of customer success and global innovation at Oracle and a former global chief technology officer at Grupo Bimbo and IT head for GE Latin America, will support the company's digital transformation. Celis, currently a board member at Grupo Lala and Pilgrim's Pride with 18 years of experience as CEO of Grupo Lala, will strengthen the company's strategic capabilities in the consumer sector. They are replacing Martín Werner and Silvia Davila, who have retired.
Furthermore, Betterware has engaged David Kusuma as a research and development strategy advisor, effective July 6. Kusuma brings over 20 years of product development experience, having previously led Tupperware's global research and development department and served as President of the World Design Organization from 2022 to 2024.
Betterware recently completed the acquisition of Tupperware's Latin American business for $250 million, securing permanent, exclusive rights to the brand in the region. The company plans to reverse the sales decline trend for Tupperware in the area by reigniting innovation and optimizing its business model.
