PegBio’s Paidakang® Enters Clinical Use Nationwide, Unlocks HK$49.00 Million Second Royalty from Tenry Pharmaceutical

PegBio Co., Ltd. (PegBio) announced that, as of 22 July 2026, the first batch of commercial prescriptions for Paidakang®—its once-weekly glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA) for adult type 2 diabetes—has been issued at leading hospitals including Peking University People’s Hospital and the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. Prescriptions were written by Professors Ji Linong and Zhou Zhiguang, both principal investigators in Paidakang®’s Phase III trial.

The nationwide launch marks Paidakang®’s transition from research and marketing approval to routine clinical application. The drug, administered at a fixed 0.97 mg dose without titration, demonstrated sustained glycaemic control, favourable safety and gastrointestinal tolerability, and multiple metabolic benefits in clinical studies.

Under PegBio’s exclusive mainland China commercialisation agreement with Shanghai Tenry Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Tenry Pharmaceutical), issuance of first commercial prescriptions satisfies all conditions for the second milestone payment. Tenry Pharmaceutical has confirmed the trigger event and will remit approximately HK$49.00 million within the contractually defined period. This follows an initial HK$61.00 million royalty received earlier this year.

PegBio and Tenry Pharmaceutical will continue to expand market access, academic promotion, distribution channels, hospital coverage and patient services for Paidakang®, while maintaining quality management and supply stability.

The board cautioned that commercial performance may vary with market environment, access progress and promotional effectiveness, and advised shareholders and potential investors to exercise prudence when trading PegBio securities.
