ICBC Adjusts Risk Rating for Ruyi Gold Accumulation Product to R2-Low to Medium Risk

ICBC has announced an adjustment to the product risk rating and customer risk tolerance level for its Ruyi Gold Accumulation business. The bank stated that, in light of recent factors contributing to market instability and to further protect the interests of individual investors, it will modify these ratings.

Effective from 19 May 2026, Beijing time, the product risk rating for the Ruyi Gold Accumulation business will be adjusted to R2-Low to Medium Risk. The corresponding required customer risk tolerance level will be adjusted to C2-Conservative or higher.

For personal clients opening a new account, initiating active accumulation, or establishing a new regular accumulation plan for this product, they must undergo a risk tolerance assessment through ICBC's unified questionnaire. This assessment is accessible via the bank's branches, online banking, or the ICBC mobile app. A result of C2-Conservative or higher is required (clients with a valid existing assessment meeting this criterion do not need to be re-tested). Additionally, clients must sign the Ruyi Gold Accumulation Risk Disclosure Statement (those who have already signed it do not need to re-sign).

Personal clients with existing Ruyi Gold Accumulation accounts are not subject to the above conditions when performing operations such as physical gold withdrawal, redemption, execution, modification, or termination of valid regular accumulation plans, or account closure.
