Hong Kong Dollar Interbank Rates Climb Broadly, One-Month Rate Hits Two-Month High at 2.95%

Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates (HIBOR) saw a broad uptick on September 16, with the one-month rate, closely tied to mortgage pricing, climbing 3.744 basis points to 2.95000%, marking its fourth consecutive daily rise and reaching its highest level in over two months.

Meanwhile, the three-month rate, which serves as a key gauge for bank funding costs, advanced 2.232 basis points to 3.12488%. In contrast, the overnight rate eased 5.309 basis points to 2.19762%.

The one-week rate ticked up 1.488 basis points to 2.44167%, while the two-week rate jumped 12.298 basis points to 2.65119%. The two-month rate added 2.893 basis points to 3.02893%.

At the longer end of the curve, the six-month rate rose 3.720 basis points to 3.35000%, and the one-year rate edged up 1.161 basis points to 3.75000%.
