The US Department of Defense has established a series of framework agreements with several major defense contractors, aiming to accelerate the production of critical missile systems. These weapons have already been used extensively in the early stages of the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran.

According to a statement from the Pentagon, Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems have agreed on plans with the US Department of Defense to "quadruple the production rate of seekers for Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptor missiles."

This follows a previous framework arrangement agreed upon between the US Department of Defense and Lockheed Martin, which targeted a fourfold increase in the production of THAAD interceptor missiles.

The Pentagon also stated that under a separate, distinct framework agreement, Honeywell Aerospace will invest $500 million over several years to "rapidly increase production of critical components for US ammunition stockpiles," which include navigation systems and other products.

Furthermore, Lockheed Martin and the Pentagon will also increase the production of the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), which is intended to replace the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS).
