IHH Healthcare Berhad said on Feb, 19 2026 that its wholly owned subsidiary Northern TK Venture Pte Ltd (NTK) has filed a petition with the Tokyo District Court to widen the scope of its ongoing legal action against Japan-based Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited. The petition, lodged on Feb, 12 2026 and served on Feb, 17 2026, seeks to amend NTK’s existing claims.

NTK’s original suit, announced on Nov, 14 2023 and May, 20 2025, demands damages of about 1.9 billion Singapore dollars for alleged tortious conduct and roughly 0.05 million Singapore dollars for defamation, plus accrued interest. It also seeks an injunction to stop Daiichi Sankyo from making statements to India’s Securities and Exchange Board (SEBI) or others that could hinder NTK’s mandatory open offers for additional stakes in Fortis Healthcare Ltd and Fortis Malar Hospitals Ltd.

Following the completion of those open offers on Nov, 10 2025, NTK now asks the court to extend the injunction, aiming to prevent any future obstruction by Daiichi Sankyo of NTK’s further share acquisitions or other investment and corporate exercises involving Fortis and Malar. The monetary relief sought remains unchanged, though NTK reserves the right to revise the amount of damages.

IHH stated that it will issue further updates on material developments in the case.
