Prudential plc announced the cancellation of 735,733 ordinary shares on Sep, 14 2026, representing about 0.03% of its issued share capital. The shares had been repurchased on Sep, 10 2026 at an average price of GBP 9.8754 per share.
Following the cancellation, Prudential’s outstanding share capital fell to 2,490,024,096 ordinary shares from 2,490,759,829 as at Sep, 11 2026.
On Sep, 14 2026 the company also repurchased another 708,277 shares on the London Stock Exchange—401,606 shares under the authority granted at the 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) and 306,671 under the renewed 2026 AGM mandate. The total consideration for these additional purchases was approximately 12 million Singapore dollars. All of the repurchased shares are intended for cancellation.
Cumulatively, Prudential has now acquired 120,867,085 shares (4.64% of shares outstanding at the time of the 2025 mandate) under the 2025 authorisation and 2,690,126 shares (0.11%) under the 2026 authorisation.
A moratorium on issuing new shares or transferring treasury shares remains in force until Oct, 14 2026.
