Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOGL) and Telstra Group Ltd (ASX: TLS) announced a network infrastructure partnership on Tuesday.

Under the agreement, Google will lease capacity on Telstra's newly built fiber network and gain access to subsea cables, funded by Google, that connect Australia to the United States, Japan, and Pacific island nations.

Key Details of the Partnership

Google has selected Telstra and its new Aura fiber network to strengthen its artificial intelligence computing infrastructure within Australia.

As part of the deal, Google will lease dark fiber resources on Telstra's Aura network for intercity connectivity.

This collaboration will also provide Telstra with additional subsea cable bandwidth to meet the growing data demands of cloud computing and AI applications.

In a joint statement, both companies indicated that this sharing of network resources is designed to reduce the risk of outages and ensure continuous, secure data transmission.
