Anchored in the capital's broader development strategy, Daxing is committed to strengthening six pillar industries: airport economy, biomedicine, future energy, digital economy, commercial aerospace, and agricultural technology. As a key hub for advanced manufacturing in the capital and the only administrative district in Beijing included in the first batch of national new-type industrialization demonstration zones, Daxing is leveraging its regional resource advantages to focus on three major areas: biomedicine, hydrogen energy, and embodied intelligence.
In biomedicine, Daxing is intensifying efforts to build the "China Pharmaceutical Valley" with global influence. The district has established a "trinity" medical innovation framework combining Capital Medical University's main campus, the Capital Institute for Medical Innovation, and the university's research hospital, facilitating a seamless pipeline from basic research through clinical trials to industrial application. The district is also working with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences to establish the National Animal Model Technology Innovation Center at a high standard, providing high-quality upstream technology for medical innovation research, drug translation, and biosecurity. By amplifying the efficiency of the Beijing Digital Economy Enterprise Global Expansion Innovation Service Base and collaborating with international platforms such as GHWP and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines & Health Products, Daxing is opening channels for international drug and device registration, compliance certification, and overseas filing to help Beijing's innovative pharmaceutical and device industries expand globally.
In future energy, Daxing is racing ahead to lead the hydrogen energy sector and establish China's hydrogen energy demonstration zone. Having secured approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated hydrogen energy pilot city cluster initiative, Daxing will spearhead the deployment of 37 hydrogen refueling stations across six provinces and 13 cities, construct six major hydrogen energy corridors, and achieve large-scale demonstration applications in long-haul trucking and cold-chain logistics. The district is strengthening the Beijing Hydrogen Innovation Center in partnership with the Huairou National Laboratory and China Energy Group, building an innovation platform for technological breakthroughs, achievement transformation, and demonstration leadership. The Beijing Green Hydrogen Trading Service Center will be established, and the national hydrogen fuel cell vehicle quality inspection and testing center will fully operate. By 2030, Daxing plans to promote the adoption of 12,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
In embodied intelligence, Daxing is seizing the momentum to stake its claim in the sector, aiming to become Beijing's high-end robotics intelligent manufacturing base. With Weishanzhuang Town along the central axis as the primary location, the district is concentrating on specialized tracks such as quadruped robots, medical robots, and core joint modules. A 40,000-square-meter high-end robotics intelligent manufacturing industrial park is set to debut by the end of this year. Daxing is strengthening its rapid-response robotics service platform, deploying shared service facilities for sample prototyping and performance testing, and solidifying its foundation for engineering validation and large-scale manufacturing. To build an embodied intelligence application city, the district has released 19 initial application scenarios, including at Beijing Daxing International Airport, and will continue opening up diverse use cases across public security, emergency response, education, and healthcare. Building a Core Hub for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Technology Commercialization
Growing future industries fundamentally relies on technological innovation, and the key lies in translating results into practical applications. Actively seizing strategic opportunities from the modern capital metropolitan circle and the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Science and Technology Innovation Center initiative, Daxing has systematically devised a "five ones" work framework for scientific and technological industry development.
The first "one" involves establishing a coalition by forming the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Innovation Alliance for Universities and Research Institutions, which has already brought together 36 universities, research institutes, and medical organizations from the three regions. This alliance focuses on source innovation and establishes a regular docking mechanism. The second "one" is developing a base by designating 40,000 square meters of grade-5A office space to provide low-cost, high-quality R&D environments for research teams and commercialization projects.
